What is the secret to a good life, one might ask?
While shelves of books have been written on how to have a good life, there are a couple of verses of scripture that sum it up quite well. David wrote in Psalm 34:12-14 the following lines;
Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
David stated that if you don’t talk deceit, don’t speak evil but depart from it and do good, seek and pursue peace, you will have a long, good life.
That sounds simple, but in the atmosphere that we live in today, it may be difficult to perform. Today the whole world seems to have gone mad. There is a loud bang on the drum, pounding out a beat of negative shouts that slashes at our very souls. If you could take all the noise being heard on the airways and isolate the messages one by one, you may find that in the end, there is only the quiet of nature left speaking.
But there is hope. David continued his message by saying in vs 15 – The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
He further stated in vs 22 – The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
The Lord is our vindicator, our redeemer. He will take care of us and keep us from all the worrisome noise around us. Focus on your redeemer, keep yourself from evil, and you will walk in peace.
Rejoice, for you are greatly loved!
Amen! Psalm 34 is such a powerful reminder that God's peace and guidance are available to those who seek Him. Thank you for these uplifting words.
Powerful words. The secret to a good life isn't complicated—it's living according to God's Word and trusting Him every step of the way. Amen! 🙏
Thank you for this beautiful message. It’s a reminder that even when the world feels overwhelming, we can choose a different path—one of faith, kindness, and peace. God sees, God hears, and God remains faithful to those who trust in Him.
