The Courtroom Of Heaven

The Man that divided time was sentenced to death by the actions of the Jewish Council and Rome. He was beaten and crucified on a wooden cross by Roman soldiers. Once the price of sin was fully paid by His death on that cross, He stood before the Supreme Judge, Almighty God of all creation. God examined the evidence placed before Him by His accuser, Satan. The Man was sacrificed to pay the full debt owed by mankind because of the treason committed by Adam.

Because the Man that went to the cross where all of sin had been placed upon Him was innocent, without sin, Satan had no legal right to hold him prisoner in hell. The Supreme Judge found Him, Jesus, not guilty and called His Spirit out of the tomb of hell and placed it into His resurrected body, recreated into immortality.

At that moment, God the Father, the Supreme Judge, declared as it is written in Psalm 2:7 “I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to Me, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You”. Jesus became the firstborn of many into the family of God.

He, who knew no sin, took our sin and paid the price we could not pay. He carried us to the cross as He went. We the unjust, the unrighteous, deserving of all punishment due, should have been in that courtroom receiving the sentence of eternal separation from God.

According to Colossians 2:13-15, Jesus stood in our place and did this for us;

13  And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,  14  having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15  Having armed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Jesus triumphed over all evil and delivered us, He redeemed us. He paid for our freedom with His own life and gave us His victory so that we can have access to our God, our heavenly Father, and experience His blessings now in this life here on earth.
